Zorb football, sometimes known as bubble football, involves playing a modified game of football while wearing a large inflatable sphere around the upper body. It's based on the wider concept of zorbing, where a person is enclosed within a large inflatable ball for recreational movement. Traditional zorbing typically involves rolling downhill inside the sphere or travelling across flat ground. In zorb football, only the upper body is enclosed, allowing players to run and kick the ball while still experiencing the impact-absorbing and collision-focused nature of the activity.
ActivitySure can cover zorb football on an amateur, non-professional basis when you are taking part abroad. This applies to recreational matches and organised group sessions rather than professional competition or paid performance. Although the inflatable suits are designed to absorb impact, the activity still involves running, collisions and falls.

Destination Insight
Zorb football is widely available in the UK, where it is commonly booked for parties, group outings and team-building events. It is also offered in Australia and Spain, often as part of organised leisure activities. Many destinations include it within structured group entertainment packages rather than formal sporting leagues.
Despite the protective inflatable suits, zorb football involves sudden changes of direction, collisions and loss of balance. Falls, sprains and minor impact injuries can occur, particularly on uneven surfaces. If you are injured while abroad, medical treatment or repatriation may be required. Having appropriate travel insurance in place can help protect you financially if something goes wrong during your trip.
