Paramotoring is a form of powered paragliding that combines a paraglider wing with a lightweight motor worn by the pilot. Unlike parasailing, which involves being towed behind a vehicle or boat, paramotoring is a self-controlled flight activity where the pilot manages take-off, direction and landing independently. This allows take-off from flat ground and sustained powered flight, offering wide-ranging aerial views.
ActivitySure can cover paramotoring when you are taking part abroad at an amateur level, provided the activity meets the policy conditions. Flights are typically organised through clubs, instructors or recognised flying sites rather than casual recreational towing activities.

Destination Insight
Paramotoring is popular in destinations that offer open landscapes, stable weather conditions and clear launch areas. Countries such as Spain are well known for paramotoring due to their wide rural spaces and consistent flying conditions.
Turkey and Morocco also attract paramotor pilots, particularly along coastal and open inland regions where wind conditions and scenery suit longer powered flights.
Paramotoring involves powered flight at low altitude, which carries risks such as equipment malfunction, hard landings or changes in wind conditions. Even with careful planning, injuries can occur and may require medical treatment while abroad. If an incident happens during your trip, you may need access to emergency care or repatriation, making suitable travel insurance an important part of your plans.
