Korfball is a mixed-gender team sport that involves passing and shooting a ball through a raised hoop. Similar in style to basketball, it focuses on teamwork, movement and positioning, and is played both recreationally and in organised competition.
ActivitySure can cover korfball when you are taking part abroad at an amateur level, including organised matches and training sessions, provided the activity meets the policy conditions. While the sport is non-contact by rule, its fast pace and frequent changes of direction mean suitable travel insurance remains important when travelling.

Destination Insight
Korfball is most widely played in the Netherlands and Belgium, where it forms part of national sporting culture and is supported by established leagues, clubs and community courts.
The sport has also grown internationally, including in Taiwan, which regularly hosts international tournaments and attracts travelling teams and spectators from across the world.
Although physical contact is limited, korfball involves rapid movement, jumping and ball handling, which can lead to sprains, strains or impact injuries. If an injury occurs while abroad, medical treatment or further assistance may be required.
