Diving and high diving involve jumping or performing controlled movements from platforms into deep water within a swimming pool environment. Activities may include standard diving from lower boards or higher platforms, depending on the facility and experience level.
ActivitySure can cover indoor diving up to 5 metres or 10 metres, as well as high diving that takes place in indoor or outdoor swimming pools only, provided the activity meets the policy conditions. Diving and high diving must be undertaken at an amateur level only and within approved swimming pool environments. As diving involves entry into water from height, having suitable travel insurance in place is important before taking part.

Destination Insight
Pool-based diving and high diving are offered at specialist aquatic centres and sports facilities around the world. Many travellers take part while visiting training centres, leisure complexes or organised activity venues that provide controlled environments with regulated water depth and supervision.
Some destinations host structured sessions or exhibitions within swimming pool facilities, allowing participants to take part under managed conditions.
Diving from height increases the risk of impact-related injuries, particularly to the back, neck or shoulders if entry is not controlled. Even in supervised pool environments, accidents can happen, and medical treatment abroad can be costly. Travel insurance helps protect you financially if you require medical care or need to return home following an injury.
With ActivitySure travel insurance, cover may include:
Indoor diving up to 5m is covered as standard. If you’re looking to dive from a higher board, you can choose 10m from the additional activities. For indoor diving higher than this, you should select High Diving for the activity to be covered.
You must make sure to select the correct version of your activity to be covered. Without doing so, you may not be covered for any injuries or related expenses.
Yes. provided you’ve included indoor diving on your policy. You must follow all safety requirements and cannot dive above your selected height limit. If you dive from a higher board than the one you’ve added to your policy, this can cause problems if you need to claim.
You need only choose high diving as your additional activity if you are diving from a height above 10 metres. This is due to the risks associated with the height and nature of the activity.
Remember, you are only covered for up to 5 metres as standard - anything more than this must be declared.
No. Diving up to 5 or 10 metres is only covered indoors. For outdoor diving, you will need to select High Diving, as this version of the activity can be covered for both indoor and outdoor dives.
